I'm moving yet again

We're moving to Naples on the west side of Florida on the gulf coast. I've hinted at a potential move a few times in recent posts and you might have noticed the palm trees are back in my blog header. However, I've been keeping it on the DL not wanting to make a big deal out of it, but now as the moving van is carting away our possessions I need to come clean.

This will be 7 homes in 9 years in 4 states.

Why Florida? A couple of reasons. My mother is no longer a snowbird, but is down there full-time now, so I'll get to be near my best friend and the boys get grandma. The extra help will be amazing too. Also, my husband is from Texas and this last winter was very difficult for him, especially with two toddlers couped up inside. Plus, we can work anywhere, so why not near the beach?

Although I do love the home that I've made here, we're able to get a 5 bedroom, 4 bath house with a pool for 100k less than up North. We'd also be moving to a gated community with other families, which will be great as we don't have many friends with kids. The development also has tennis courts, a gym, soccer field, baseball field and lots of other amenities. Oh, and no state income tax. Overall, I'm hoping it will be a good move for our family.

Will I miss being able to go into Manhattan and the events that I attend there? Yes. I'll also miss my favorite season Fall and going apple picking, seeing the leaves change on Bear Mtn and all my childhood memories. Yet, with my dad and Nanny no longer here and my mom down South it's all bittersweet.

I'm often traveling though for my blog and work, so hopefully I'll be back up North often enough.

Anyway, on to a new chapter. I hope you all join me for the ride. Stay tuned for pics of my new home, before and after shots, interior design tips, etc.

But first...flying with two toddlers and two cats.
