Pampers Daylight Sleep Tips & Giveaway

I used to always look forward to the end of Daylight Savings Time and falling back an hour. After all, it was a whole extra hour of sleep! However, now that I have children, it's not so good. I've been worried and stressing about their schedule, which I worked so hard to maintain. I fear the babies will be waking us up at 6:45 a.m. instead of 7:45 a.m. and wanting to go to sleep sooner. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Apparently, I'm not alone. Over half of moms (52%) feel that their baby's sleep patterns are thrown off when the clocks 'fall back' and Daylight Savings Time ends. An extra hour of sleep also means the boys will be in their diapers for even longer. Luckily, I received a sample package of Pampers Baby Dry, a new and improved Pampers diapers with superior overnight dryness and protection. 24% of moms believe a dry diaper helps babies sleep better and these new diapers provide up to 12 hours of overnight protection and with a 15% increase in capacity.

I honestly tried to take a photo of them both in their diapers before bedtime, but as you can see from my scooter on the right, I could barely capture one.

In prep for Sunday, here are some helpful sleeping tips from Pampers and Kim West, "The Sleep Lady" to help with Fall Back on November 3 at 2 a.m. I'm starting to do these now.
  • Make a point to slowly adjust your child’s bedtime and naptimes an hour earlier, just 15-30 minutes a day for a few days before daylight savings ends.
  • Make sure that you’re changing your baby’s diaper right before your child goes into the crib for naps or bedtime.
  • Get outside. It’s getting colder, so bundle everyone up and take a morning walk, just 20 or 30 minutes to make sure that you and your baby get some sunshine, which will help your circadian rhythm adjust to the time change. If you can’t manage a morning walk, make sure that the blinds are open as you start your day, and keep them open up to 45 minutes before nap and bedtimes to help your child adjust to the time change.
  • My tip: Don't stay up an extra hour that evening, because you'll regret it in the morning. The boys fall asleep by 9:30 p.m. and then we stay up till Midnight or 1 a.m. doing work and blogging.
If you have more sleep questions for Kim West you can participate in the upcoming #PampersSleepChat Twitter Party on November 7 at 9 p.m. EST. Chat about how the end of Daylight Savings Time can affect sleep patterns & get tips on easing the transition.
