Working the WrestleMania 29 Press Conference

Yesterday, my team and I worked a morning press conference at MetLife Stadium to announce WWE's WrestleMania XXIX (29) will take place at the arena in 2013 with events throughout the New York/New Jersey region. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, John Mara President and CEO of the New York Giants, New York Jets Chairman and CEO Woody Johnson, WWE Superstars John Cena, Triple H, Sheamus, Mark Henry, WWE Divas the Bella Twins and special guest Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were all on hand for the historic announcement.

It was my first time at the new stadium, as the last time I attended an event there it was still the old Meadowlands. It was especially cool being behind-the-scenes, early in the morning, with all the seats empty and just the WrestleMania logo lighting up the vacant field. We also had a fun golf cart ride through the loading zone area. It reminded me of the short-lived Matthew Perry show Mr. Sunshine.

It was also my first time seeing The Rock. I can easily see why he's dubbed "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment," as his five-minute speech to the press was interactive, playful and seemed to pump everyone up, which was impressive considering the overcast day and early hour.

MetLife Stadium will also host the 2014 Super Bowl.
