When we adopted Patches three years ago, I started feeding her Science Diet dry food since that was what our vet sold in their offices. She loved it, however, last year after seeing the popularity of natural and organic cat food options, I decided to switch to another brand. While the new brand did not contain chicken-by-products, it left my cat's hair dry and dull. So, when I heard Science Diet now made an Ideal Balance dry food, I happily switched back. They even have a grain free option too, which not all the organic cat food brands offer. Check the ingredients list on so-called healthier options and you'll still see corn listed.
Science Diet Ideal Balance - Grain Free has fresh chicken as the 1st ingredient, Healthy fruits and veggies like cranberries, carrots and broccoli, and NO corn, wheat, soy, dairy or beef. Now, my cat's coat is silky again and I'm happy to be feeding them a healthier option that they enjoy.
Your feline friends can try out the new line for themselves as Hill's Science Diet is letting me giveaway two three pound bags for a lucky winner!

My cat is on a diet, he gets about 2 ounces of purina one I door dry food in the morning, and then in the evening he gets a 3 ounce can of friskies wet food. This is sort of a new procedure for us, but we're trying very hard to get his weight down a bit and he seems to be enjoying it!

I have one cat that I swear is bulimic, so I have to rotate his diet. Once he starts to "purge" it's time to change. And never any food with red coloring...not good on beige carpet!!
ReplyDeleteright now we feed our cat purina one indoor formula dry food and she gets a variety of brands of wet food but most often proplan.
ReplyDeleteMy cats nomally eat a dry kind with Hair Ball Controll!

I generally feed my cats Whiskas because that is what my old cat liked (who passed quietly of old age at 19) but I'd like to try a better balanced dry food for my other cat who is getting up there now.

My cat Desiree gets Iams dry (there's always a bowl out for her to eat from), then she gets a quarter of a can of moist food (different types, she's finicky so I buy different brands and varieties).
ReplyDeleteCat really need high quality diet for better growth. you present a new diet plan to me. thanks for caring my catty.
ReplyDeleteYou are what you eat, and this is equally true for the cats that depend on us for room and board. Indeed, cat food is one of the most important expenses of feline guardianship, next to veterinary care.
