One of the most unexpected surprises on my trip was visiting Tallinn, Estonia, which was the city I was least looking forward to seeing, but ended up being one of my favorite stops. The medieval old town looked like a town in a Disney tale. It's a corny comparison, but I couldn't help but think it looked like the town of Far Far Away from Shrek.
While walking the cobble stone streets, Raphael and I tried their local Saku beer and had thin crust salmon pizza (every corner seemed to have either a cafe, pub turned pizzeria) outside Town Hall Square.
We also walked up the many steps of St. Olav's Chruch tower for some magnificent views of the city.
Never been to Estonia? Well, take a look at my video for a view into this wonderful city:
Im going on the next trip!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOMG!! You really did go to Far, Far and Away! So cool. Love the video (much better than my Dublin stuff).
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing and untouched by tourists. Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeletelooks like the setting for chitty chitty bang bang where that guy is searching for CHILDREN in the square. Hollywood can definetly do a lot with that place.

Wow wish I would have come it does look like a Disney film.
ReplyDeleteI have a question. Why where you least looking forward to come to Tallinn ? Was it because you had little information or you thought it was too small or the USSR thing ? I must say you are not alone a lot of the people who come are Positively surprised
ReplyDeleteAnneli- Good question. It's because I knew very little about Estonia or Tallinn and thus was pleasantly surprised.
