Hi everyone! Last week I was telling my friend Tara (you may know her) about a Christmas fundraiser I was attending for the Trevor Project, an organization that runs the only national 24/7 crisis hotline for gay youth.
Now, when I say fundraiser, I mean Christmas show extravaganza! This thing was unbelievable. When the Tony-Award winning cast of Spring Awakening opened the event with two musical numbers, little did I know this was just the beginning of an amazing night.
The night of surprises continued as American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino performed a soulful (and barefoot) performance of Purple Rain, running off stage in a crying fit that got everyone to their feet swaying with cell phones held high.
But the show itself was only part of the exciting evening for me. I was lucky enough to interview Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver, who was accepting the Trevor Life Award, Selma Blair, Scrubs actress Sarah Chalke, and long time Trevor supporters, Jennifer Coolidge and Will & Grace Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan. Check out the debut of my stellar celebrity interviewing skills below. Hopefully it will be the first of many to come:

Today's guest blogger and my very first When Tara Met Blog red carpet stand-in, is my colleague and friend Dave Dell a.k.a. @LAImposter. I definitely have some competition:
