Housewarming Bucket DIY

I attended a house warming party over the weekend and while I typically just bring a bottle of wine or liquor, I wanted to do something a bit more creative this time. I came across this Pin from Martha Stewart for making a housewarming bucket.

I had problems finding a standard silver-colored utility bucket, but found a prettier tin one at Target that was a smaller though. I filled the contents with some fun, yet useful items - a sponge, extension cord, Goo Be Gone, grill lighter, post-its, shopping list and tape.
I then used some green chalkboard paint for the first time and painted a square on the front of the bucket. I applied two coats and wrote "Welcome Home" with chalk.
It was a fun project to do as a housewarming gift for an apartments for rent in Rochester NY that was easy enough to do and my gift was definitely unique and the only one of its kind there, bonus!

  6. Now this is what a housewarming gift should be. Useful gifts for the house. I might go heavier on the cleaning products and sponges...always was a thing for me when I moved into a new rental. Now that I own, I embrace my dirt!
