Working from home now

I owe you all an update.

From the photos and the baby product reviews that I've posted, you've probably learned by now that I'm a mom with twins, so yes, that's new, but I haven't shared what I've been doing professionally these days. Although technically I did do that one post about my new bosses.

I chose not to return to WWE after my maternity leave. With twins it didn't make sense for us. The boys were only 2-months-old and it was not the right time. I returned for a week to help transition my role though, but with the babies still waking up in the middle of the night then, I felt like a walking zombie.

Yet, being home full-time wasn't a cake walk either, especially being cooped inside all winter. Luckily, I now have the best of both worlds. I'm working from home as an independent PR contractor and Social Media maven for several clients. I clock around 20hrs a week. I have a nice woman who helps me during the day so I can work upstairs from 11a-5p (minus when I have to step away to help with feedings, etc.) and I then log-on again after the boys go to sleep at 10 p.m. -- like I'm doing now. I'm also able to blog more and attend the during the day media events that I always had to pass on while at an office. I also started TOTRunway.com, which has been fun writing for.

Plus, in between pitching and calls, I get to play with these two happy guys, who get so excited when I re-enter the room:

I also share my office/guestroom with these two "catty" girls who supervise my work from the bed behind me. I can just spin in my swivel chair and pet them. Here they are refusing to lie in the new kitty beds that we bought them.

So, that's that. Hopefully I can make a real go of it. Wish me luck!

  1. Wow congrats on making that transition and making it work! I'm going back to work on Tuesday and I'm only dreading it from the perspective of being a zombie. But hopefully will make it work.
