Once again I was able to attend the 2012 Slow Churned SocialLuxe Lounge in New York City, the ultimate pre-BlogHer event independent from the conference. Tickets for bloggers sold out in under a minute!
The annual “primp and pamper” party included an area with chair massages, make-up touch-ups and even Henna design artists. Having never been Henna'd before, I opted to visit the latter station. It sort of tickled as they applied the wet, all-natural ink. After it was hard moving around the party without smudging it though. However, once it flaked off, it left a such a cool mark that provided me with plenty of compliments for the rest of the BlogHer conference. Four days later it's still present, just a bit faded to a softer brown color. Take a look:
Also at the party was the pregnant and beautiful Vanessa Minnillo Lachey. I decided to be bold and asked if we could do a photo of our bumps and she kindly agreed! (Vanessa Lachey Scoopin' and Smilin' - Us Magazine)
Another celeb guest included The Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin, who gave a demonstration of Bissell’s new SpotBot's Pet Deep Cleaner. I missed the demo, but need to look into this product since Bandit keeps throwing up on our carpet.
Event sponsor, Dreyer’s/Edy’s ice cream was there giving out mini cartons. Since being pregnant, ice cream has been my only craving, so I quickly went to their area for some chocolate ice cream. They also had a photo booth setup as part of their “Reason to Smile” campaign, where for every “ice cream
smile” photo captured and uploaded to their Facebook page,
$5 will be donated to Operation Smile. The brand’s goal is to capture 25,000 photos before the end of the
summer, which will enable Operation Smile to provide more than 500
reconstructive surgeries for children around the globe suffering from cleft lip,
cleft palate and other facial deformities. Below is my smiley mug, but be sure and upload yours too for charity. It's easy!
